6371   For Each night I come home to Christmas Tree lights there is just something that is so peaceful to sit with nothing but the lights ....wonderful feeling

6372   Tuesday ~~for this day !!! a day off , to try and get some Christmas shopping done .
6373   Safety in our travels for shopping ,also for being the feet of my other brothers and sisters to buy some groceries for others
6374    That over whelming gift I received to help someone else ...

6375   Wednesday ~~for this day !!! as each day is a gift from GOD
6376   Getting off work early,  that the day is warm an sunny as I went  to take a cross and flowers to my brothers grave , for the little Christmas Tree is kids had placed there
6377    Going to Subway for dinner and taking the subs to the park to enjoy the lights

6378   Thursday ~~for this day !!! for each and every minute of this day

6379   Friday ~~For this day !!! waking up praying for others , having my former pastor and his wife on my mind and praying for them .  for knowing that GOD is listening to my prayers

Christmas Remembered (4)

Christmas Memories I cherish each one .

This Christmas as with each and every Christmas, I recall the love
my dad had for Christmas, from taking us to pick the perfect tree out in the woods,
to putting up the lights outside, buying cases of fresh fruit , nuts and candy.

First thinking about our beauitful big wonderful smelling  Christmas tree , we decorated with these beautiful
glass ornaments  ( Mother would say be careful not to break these) , the big thick silver rope, multicolored lights, the star sitting on top.
and lots of Icicles, my mother loved the trees to be covered with icicles . My job
was to water the tree each night ,  I loved crawling up under that big beautiful green
tree  and watering it each night,.the sitting there looking at all those bright beautiful
Red, Green, Yellow , white and Blue lights .

My dad and I would put the lights up outside all around the porch , better yet
I just mostly was in the way I am sure as he was climbing up the ladder tacking them up with
such ease and then I got to turn the lights on ............Beautiful !!

The smell of Christmas floods my mind , I can smell all that wonderful
fresh fruit , Those big Oranges , tangerines, Apple, Grapes, they just smell
better at Christmas. Even now they have the better smell .
My dad shared with everyone near as he would buy many cases of each
our stocking were hung up to be filled with Fruit on Christmas morning .

I better run to the store and get some of the good Smelling
Fruits ...

Christmas Rmemebered (3)

The Christmas Memory is the some where near the mid 60's
 The Easy Bake Oven  it was turquoise in color and had a fake stove top.
I remember it came  with several packages of different cake mixes.

The Alden's Catalog picture looked probably like the picture above .  I am sure I wore
the pages out of the Christmas Catalog.

One day before Christmas My brother who was four years older than me, we were
left home alone.  My Parents out finishing their Shopping no doubt.
My brother says to me there is no Santa .  I say "no way "!
He then says I will show you there is no Santa , so we go out to the Garage and
he opens up the car trunk .  Oh my , there in the trunk lay my Easy Bake oven.
When My parents returned , I run and said  can I have my Easy Bake Oven
Lloyd showed it to me its in the trunk .  My parents of course didn't let me have
it and told my brother his basketball was going back which was in the trunk also.
Christmas Morning Lloyd and I both had our Christmas Presents under the tree  , I baked for
many days to come,  I loved this little oven.
This is a Christmas remembered for the year of the Easy Bake Oven and finding out
about Santa ...

This Christmas memory would have been early 1960's
To be exact I think the year was 1962
that was the year for the doll with the red dress

I  remember asking for this gift ,
Back in my day it was Alden's
Catalogs to look through
for Christmas.


I can see me sitting looking at those big Alden's Christmas catalogs
on the couch with my mother , showing her what I wanted
I also think they were advertised on the Tv.
I received my doll  from Santa , the Chatty Cathy doll , its talked
just like me !
Chatty Cathy was the most gorgeous doll ever
she said elven different things  by pulling the string
" I love you.

Do you love me

Please brush my hair.

What can we do now

Please change my dress

Give me a kiss.

I'm so tired

Lets have a party

Please take me with you

Lets play school

May I have a cookie

I received this doll and something happened ~~~it would not talk ~~~ My mother  called the company telling them of chatty not being so Chatty as she made this call I stood right beside her in our dinning room holding on to her apron waiting to see what we could do for my new doll
Mother said we will
have to send her  back to the Toy Store to be fixed . Ok I said so sadly .
I said goodbye and Chatty we will get you fixed as we boxed her up
I think as a four year old I am sure I cried for Chatty to hurry back
The sad thing is I dont remember getting her back .

every breathe, every step , every second of this day !!

6357   Tuesday ~~For this day !!! For the love I feel each morning when
my husband wakes me and says good morning I love you along with bringing
my coffee.
6358   For my husband having dinner waiting one me when I got home from work
baked lemon pepper chicken , sweet potatoes , green beans and corn how thoughtful , how blessed I am

6359   Wednesday ~~For this day !!! For the nights rest , the morning light
the sunshine this afternoon, for shelter from the cold , my husband having
dinner fixed again ...how blessed I am not only this day but each day

6360   Thursday ~~For this day !!! a morning of beautiful sunshine even at 29 degrees, the people that stood in line for me so I would not have to stand out in the cold.  For Oats, Peanut Butter, Cranberry Sauce, Pinto Beans, Green Beans, that I received today thank you Lord . 
6361   For Antibiotics to help my throat
6362   Chucks love for me not wanting me to be cold or to stand out in the cold .

6365   On my way to work seeing the tall weeds and wire fences with frost it looks so beautiful with the sun shinning brightly on them  thank you Lord for the beauty I saw n the frosty morning !


6366   Saturday ~~For this day !!! the warmer morning, the sun shinning brightly , my neighbor thinking I was singing jingle bells early this morning ....joyful morning !!!

A Christmas Remembered (1)

I stepped out of the car in my home town  last week to have my mind travel back in time,
                                                    Christmas 1974.

Standing in front of this window in 1974 I saw this beautiful white gold ,  sparkling Opal surrounded by diamonds ring .
I go  in try the ring on it was  the most beautiful ring,  I had found  what I wanted
for Christmas.
At home that evening I run in all excited as I had found what I just had to have,  telling my dad and mother that I had found what I wanted for Christmas, the Opal and Diamond ring and where it was
.Every day  walking up town I would stop and look at this Opal and Diamond
ring in the window standing there , wishing, hoping I would get this from my parents .
A few weeks before Christmas Standing looking in this window again ,the Opal and Diamond
ring I so wanted was gone. I go in and ask about  the Opal and Diamond ring that was in the window
do you still have it ? the answer came "no ,we sold the only one we had the other day "  My heart
sank.
That evening I go home upset  and tell my parents that I went by the store and the ring is gone and they
cant get another one .  I wanted this ring so bad .   My dad says "Sorry I guess someone bought it for their Christmas "  Still upset I tell them I cant believe that you would let someone else buy the ring , my dad again shrugging his shoulders as if to say sorry ......
Christmas eve opening gifts I was in shock when I opened one and there right before my eyes
I held in my hand the Opal and Diamond ring that I had so wanted , it was and still is beautiful
as you can see below in the picture .

I cherish this memory and the store window that brought it all back as though I was standing there
wanting this ring again .
Thankful for the parents that made this and many others sweet memories ..................

The day of bright sunshine and warm love these days of high 60's. on this Dec 3rd

for the gift of today

6340    Lisa staying on the phone for over a hour getting my cable fixed
6341    For finding a new food that is healthy and good too Lentils

6343    For the next four days off to come to Ky to be with my family to enjoy
our Family Christmas, safe travels to Ky. for welcoming arms of my family that I had not saw in a year.  the dinner that was waiting on us
6344    For  knowing that when I cant sleep away from home that I can pray for others knowing the Master is right there listening to me his little lamb that he forgives daily

6345    Friday~~For this day !!getting up early to come down stairs to make coffee
for others our morning of coffee, talks and laughs
6346   For Gaye Feeling better , meeting us for lunch at BiilyRays,  taking pictures of town and a blog to follow about the jewelry store sweet memories as I stood inn front of that store.  Then seeing Blue come running to hug his ole aunt

6347   Lloyd, Penny and I going to the parade a beautiful warm night for
the parade in the Burg.

Thanksgiving ~~Thursday Nov 24 1977

Thursday Thanksgiving November the 24th 1977, is a most memorable
yet bitter sweet Thanksgiving.
My Dad was big on all the holidays wanting all his family to be
home and together during any holiday.

On this Thanksgiving I had to work at my new job.   I was sad that I couldn't
be with all my family to enjoy the meal and fun of just being with each other.

Around noon my dad walks though the door with the plate in his
hand saying , you couldn't be with us and I just had to bring your dinner to you.
He then says there is something special just for you on your plate I can see his sweet smiling
face as I unwrapped my plate to see what was special ,  sure enough
 he had went to the garden got me a couple of
turnips peeled them and had them on my plate as a special treat from him.
My dad and I was the only two that loved raw turnips everyone else liked them cooked.
I am so thankful for this special treat that he fixed just for me .

Now the bitter and oh so bitter part that still after all these years
 brings tears to my eyes as I recall this now is he left earth for heaven .

Thank you Lord for the many , many blessings of this week I Praise you for every second
of every day that I have to enjoy as it is a "GIFT"   you Lord are the giver of all good and perfect
gifts .....Amen.......

Thanksgivng Pilgrims

Today I was thinking about that first Thanksgiving remembering the need to be grateful for what
I have.

I thought back to when the Pilgrims landed in 1620 at Plymouth Rock.   From what I have
read about the Pilgrims they didn't have much, I am sure they had many hardships.
 Yet they still believed in gratitude for all they had and that God had brought them ~~thus far~~.

I wonder what they really ate and feasted on that first Thanksgiving? I am sure it
would not compare to the feast we have but yet they gave Thanks !

Wonder if they had more than one  change of clothes or just what they wore that day?
Sure not the many clothes we have today and say from time to time "I don't have nothing to wear"

Wonder how warm and cozy they were during those cold days and nights?  Sure not warm and cozy
like we have and that I woke to this morning .

We know that with the little they had they gave thanks .

I know we can easily forget to be thankful for whatever we have, even if our life isn't all that we think it should be.
We Must remember the word alone does nothing if we don't ~~Stop and give thanks~~.for each day
that GOD has allowed us.


I have found each night when doing my devotions that I list twenty things to give thanks to
God .In giving thanks I have found it makes this gal happy !

After the rain on Monday night

it turned so cold

I decided to go out and  start

my car to be warm

when I was ready to leave for work

Walking by my roses I stop and have

a awww moment

even in the cold ,ice and frost

the rose may be bent

but the beauty

still shines

though

as you can see from the pictures

below

Thank you Lord for the beauty of the roses May I see beauty in each season also

I felt the Earth Move !!!

I was sitting on the porch enjoying the sun shinning in on me
when all the sudden I hear and feel shaking on the porch
It felt just like a washer that was really bad out of balance
My husband comes to the door and says "Whats going on"
I said I wasn't sure but I think we are having a earth quake.

I walk over to my next door neighbor and asked if he had
felt anything he said "no he hadn't felt anything
,Then his grand kids and wife run
out to say "we all felt the house shake"

In just a few minutes I find out there was a  4.3 earth quake
in Eastern Ky. and was felt in Tennessee, Ohio, Virginia
and as far as Atlanta Georgia was the news report.

We had no sunshine at all today

while talking on the phone to my sister

she says

"the sun is shinning in the tops of the trees"

I said

"there hasn't been any sun today"

I go out side to see

just as she said the Sun

shining brightly in the top

of the trees

Just look below

at the Master Artist

and the bright beautiful sun

along with the colors of the

sunset

from our loving God

A life of no frills

Thats me now

I have found through the years

that as a young person

you seek to be like the

next young person

wanting this , that or whatever

the next one has ...

Yes, that was me in younger days

I know my parents dreaded to hear my next want

my dad even said he wished he would have named me

go , want, come and get me

Years later

I have joined the simple life 

not trying to keep up with 

" The Jone's"

as the saying goes  

I now find

I love the no frills ,

don't have to worry about

all the newest and latest

items out

I know enjoy

A fire in the fire pit

a hot dog on the grill

Porch sitting

Visiting the park

watching in the quietness

Nature

early morning walks

listening to the Birds give Praise to GOD

driving around looking at all the beauty

that surrounds me

Yelp that's me

now wearing a t shirt that is older than dirt

shoes that have green paint from

summer deck furniture painting

younger years I would only wear Ainger , Nine West, or Bass shoes was in my day

 now old comfy pants

not the name brand

Finding joy in the simple things !!!

nature vit D. grilling steaks, also making supper for tomorrow night Chicken Casserole  thank you LORD that I am clothed, feed, have shelter, all my needs met for this day and days past ....

Have you ever felt

GOD

6072   Medical Supply dropped of my pulse Oximeter to use to night , also that I did go to sleep with it on my finger , on Saturday finding out my husband laid there watching the numbers to see
how I dd Thur the night =Love

6073   Saturday ~~For this day !!! Sleeping though the night with the pulse oxygen machine
the cool crisp of this day much cooler than yesterday still thankful for the day and the many blessing's of ~~cleaning house=I have a house to clean, Doing laundry =I have clothes,
Fixing a bagel= I have food to eat, raining =I have shelter , Cool weather=I have heat
Hug and Kisses=I am loved each morning by the one who lays awake watching me of the night
just to see if I am breathing right === Blessed beyond measure ....Wonderful Saviour that cares for me his child and forgives me daily of my many sins.

6074   Sunday ~~For this day !!!  Hearing the rain , seeing the day clear up ,
blessed to have enjoyed this day and week .  Studying the Word of GOD
still studying about Saul , I must remember that I must put on the whole armor
of GOD each day.  Thankful for three and half days off .



Thank you LORD for this past week and each blessing Monday to Sunday
for the Love , the Forgiveness, for knowing that you will take care of
it all ...............................Amen .....
