Lent 2012

This year for lent I gave up cookies, candy, and cakes I had done well
until today I visited our local Wal Mart to fix our aunt a Easter basket
got all the goodies and the cute little bags to put the goodies in
fixing her goodies
what do I do I have some Jelly beans and then
some marshmallows .  I could have cried after I ate them.
I just had to bow my head and talk to GOD that I had sure let
him down that I had almost made it and I messed up I have been
saddened by this one mistake I have had to ask forgiveness for my failure
for this and along with all the other failures I make daily
to not complete what I had said after all the things GOD has done for me
in my life. I pray that I can not have any more until Easter.
Anyone that gives up things for lent will understand how bad you feel
when you get so close to those days but yet mess of many some of you
are always successful with what you give up if you are that is great
so don't give up now keep on Easter is just around the corner

Memories #1

Today I was thinking how my parents would take me to church as a child
those all day meetings and dinner on the grounds , days like this I now cherish
those memories
Recalling how there was no Air conditioner in the 60's,  how as kids we would
just have to go outside.   I can still hear my Aunt  along with others singing with no need for a
microphone you could hear those  sweet voices for a long distance
As kids we would get thirsty,  this church had a big old silver water pitcher attached to the side
would be one of those silver water dippers who knows maybe a hundred or more had drank from the
dipper ....amazing that none of us got sick ....Now that is something we sure wouldn't  dare do today
no one in the late 60's or early 70's thought the first thing about not drinking from it.
I am so blessed to have grown up in the area that I did , the church's that we attended
those good old memories .
I hope to share a different memory of my growing up each week

5375    Thankful for this beautiful day  that I got to mow a little grass and trim some butterfly
bushes tonight after work ...Thank you Lord for allowing me this yard in which to take care of

5376     Tuesday ~~~For this day !!! the first day of spring !!!
5377     For the first morning of coffee on the porch with my husband
5378     That I got to do some trimming of the landscaping
5379     Thankful for our safe trip to home depot and to Cheddar's for lunch
5380     Thankful for a brothers birthday that he is now celebrating in heaven for the second year
knowing he is free to run, dance , laugh that big belly laugh ....

5381    Wednesday ~~For this day !!! and all the many blessings it has contained
5382     That I was up and outside me and my husband before dawn love porch sitting
early in the morning
5383      The birds sang so beautiful this morning

5384    Thursday~~For this day !!
5385    That the seeds I planted have are coming up

5386    Friday ~~For this day !!!
5387    For the extra cup of coffee brought to my bedside
5388    For the wonderful lunch Lisa shared with me

5389    Saturday ~~For this day !!!
5390    That even on my day off my husband still brings coffee to my bedside ~~how blessed and thankful to call him husband
5391     That I have had the day off to clean and take many breaks
5392     That during my cleaning I know GOD hears my prayers and I know he is blessing me as I pray them

5394      Thankful for our church service this morning and all my church family
5395       For warm fuzzy throws and a afternoon nap

Spring your are here !!!

I have been counting down to this day

for ........

90 some days

wooohooooo

not that we had such a bad

winter only three or four snows

which I am so thankful that is was

not a bad winter

Spring you arrived on a wonderful

day sunny

eighty five degrees

woooohoooo

this gal loves it

My husband and  I were able to

take our coffee outside

enjoy the freshness of the morning

me being me 

 just couldn't sit still after

a few cups

I just had to get my hands in the dirt

 do some weed pulling

trimming some money grass

loving this day

I know you couldn't tell

but spring time is this ole gals

favorite time of year

its new , refreshing

everything comes back to life

Thank you Lord for this day

along with the new refreshing

it brings to me

Hold on to your fork !!

 This week as I was reading a book
I was deeply touched by what a older lady told her pastor.
She had been given a short time to live  telling her pastor
all the arrangements of how she wanted her funeral
She had a very odd request that the pastor
put a fork in her hand,  he was to tell no one
unless they asked as you can imagine everyone
ask "why does sister have a fork in her hand"
The pastor told each one that when she
was at dinners she would be asked hold on to your
fork each time she was asked to hold on to her fork
she thought oh boy the best is yet to come, desserts
what she so loved .
The pastor told each one
her message that for all to hold
on to their forks because the best is yet to come
I have shared this with many in the past few weeks
and have said I am going to put a fork at my desk
so people will ask and I can relay this sweet ladies
story to others that we just got to hold on to our

forks the best is yet to come ...............
Doesnt get much sweeter than her way to tell others of heaven

5292     My husband coming by to get me to take our baby dog to get his nails done such a sweet baby he is
5293     Getting outside to get my hands in some potting soil as I have now planted some seed
LORD thank you for the seeds that produce more to share with others I pray they grow and I can share the Hibiscus
5294    For fixing supper for us with enough to take for our lunch tomorrow
5295    Thankful for being taught to share ....what wonderful parents I had Thank you LORD for allowing me to have them
5296    For my devotional that talked about planting seeds ................seeds for the kingdom
some are planters, some are waters, some reap we all have different jobs for the kingdom

Spring is near !!

I have been counting down the days

to spring for the last 88 days

I know that's crazy

but this is so me

I love spring

Love getting my hands in the good old dirt

planting flowers

its been so pretty here the past few days

I just had to get my hands in some dirt

I pulled weeds out of the landscape

Got my hands in the potting soil

Planted some seeds

in a few pots

Enjoying these days

Spring brings

freshness

a new feeling

way down deep in my soul

It makes me want to sing

for Joy

here I come outdoors

Enjoy these lovely days

and the freshness
