The week of thanksgiving

The week of thanksgiving is a bitter sweet week for me and has been

for some 35 years.

This week holds such precious memories of growing up with a big family

Mother always did the cooking , looking back now I don't see how she cooked

for so many,  nine children the husbands and wives and grand kids , I find it hard

to cook for just me and my husband.

I remember seeing her fixing the pies, cakes,and that famous big jar of

fruit salad I have never tasted one like hers how I wish I would have watched

and learned all about how she cooked

Then the last thanksgiving with my Dad he had went to the garden and got me and him

some fresh turnips , peeled and sliced just the way Dad and I loved them , since that day

I have never been able to eat them ,  maybe due to savoring the memories of the special touch

he added to that last thanksgiving , as a few days later he had gone to heaven and he went on my

birthday.

This year my brother wont be here as he and I loved pumpkin rolls his wife made,  last year he  called to say

if you are not coming to get this last bit I have saved for you I am eating it , I said go on and eat it and enjoy it for me as I am sure he did . I can see us gathered around in a circle at his house as he always said the blessing over the food ~~it brings me to tears , to know he wont be here to enjoy his pumpkin rolls
                                                          HOWEVER
 ~~I know beyond a shadow of doubt that  my family is feasting on the heavenly food ~~

My family I sure do miss them but heaven is sweeter with them there
May each one have a Happy Thanksgiving and cherish the ones you have
to share this day with

4342    Monday ~~~For this day !!!
4343    For a three day weekend , I get to clean my house today and love the clean smell that comes from cleaning  with pine sol, Lysol, Clorox ,409 lemon and the many others I  use
4344    For Praying while cleaning that GOD would show me or the other two just what is wrong
with a area in our lives ..............................Thank you GOD that you hear this child as she cries out to you in prayer knowing that you will answer right on time !!!
4345    For my husband and how he loves me even on days when I know I am unlovable
4346    Thankful that when I asked him did he want to join in thankfulness he said ok
4347     Thankful for study time this afternoon

4353    Thankful for my morning coffee and that I beat my husband up to bring him a cup of coffee

4355     Thankful that I saw my tire was almost flat before I left for work tonight as it would have been dark and no where to fix it when we leave late ....thank you JESUS for allowing me to see this and taking car of me

4358    For wearing 2 pair of paints knowing I would be cold with no heat

4362    For bruised toes from the study of fruits of the spirit ~~ thank you Lord for speaking to me Thur your word and this study the many things I learned
4363     For a garage to keep frost off our cars

9.    A new day from GOD I think him for it each day

4365    Thankful for the card and gift Aunt Jean sent she is precious to us
4366    Thankful that with no heat at work I stayed warm Lisa Leting me have the heater

4368    Thankful that GOD knows my heart early of the morning when I wake up and I am not a morning person 
4369     For the I love you and call me later if you have time ~~~

4370    Sunday ~~for this day !!!
4371   That our church did 58 shoe boxes for operation Christmas child
Lord bless each child that receives not only our 58 boxes but other boxes that they would
feel the  LOVE and come to know you
4372    That I was asked to teach Sunday School next Sunday
4373    For my husband and I enjoying the day together shopping for our thanksgiving dinner

Thank you Lord for the many many blessings of life and that Chuck did a few days on this week

This past Saturday night

we decided for dinner

we would have my famous

Genuine G's bread and cheese

broiled in the over

Love it the cheese

gets nice and bubbly

melted

and the bread edges lightly toasted

so yummy

I turn the broiler on

and  run some dish water

to wash a few dished

OK so then

I put the cheese and bread

in the oven

back to washing dishes

waiting for just a minute

for the cheese to get just right

then I smell this burning,

smoke alarms are going off

smoke is everywhere

I quickly get the cheese out

to find it

looking like this

only this is after it had cooled 

off and the big black bubble of cheese 

was ready to explode  

I am opening windows, doors,

turning on the ceiling fans

and standing in front

of one of the smoke alarms

fanning the smoke away to

keep my dog from crying from the

tone of the alarm

then after getting all the smoke out

I light a pumpkin spice candle

so the rest of the smoke smell

will go away

my husband says now it smells like

burned pumpkin

oh well !!!

you some now famous

blackened broiled cheese toast

4316    For the Godly mother I had and that today is her birthday I know she is celebrating in heaven with another child Buggs ..I can see her my  Dad, David, Buggs, Kim, Bill David, Vanessa  other family gathering to sing as my mother loved to sing ~~I can hear her singing the song I am building a bridge she loved to she has she did her housework ...............



4317    Thankful to GOD that he allows us to retain memories and we cam reflect on them at any time
today I have sure reflected on those years with my mother ....................They are like GOLD stored in a
memory vault and I cherish each one of the few years I had with her .......nothing like a precious loving mother ......

4339       For the pastors message about GOD is the Audience, when we sing don't worry about what our neighbor thanks of our singing its GOD we are singing too ...This hit me right in the face when he say this ...Thankful to know that I need to seek to please GOD
4340    For Tamsey and I going to the cemetery for me to take the flowers I had got for Buggs
4341    For another beautiful day and that I still have a few things blooming which is most unusual this time of year here ...Thank you GOD as you know how much I love the blooms and a day to work in my yard ...

Unexpected…

A few days ago we got a unexpected call saying  are you two going to be home
it was a sweet voice from my husband Aunt who was in from the sunshine state
I said I am off today so we both will be home

In the mean time of the unexpected visit I have all my closet laying out on the bed
floor and totes are every where I hurry and to put it all back to get ready
for our unexpected visit they we so welcome

It is always so nice to have a unexpected call and visit from family or friends
we have a most enjoyable visit as they are the sweetest couple ever she has the same
name as my favorite aunt and is just as sweet and jolly as my own aunt was.
I am thankful for this sweet visit from the Aunt and Uncle that we cherish
as family members


So my unexpected was a great time with family !!!

Brotherly Kindness~~a Lesson learned in giving

Brotherly Kindness

It was a time in my life when everyone at church had been talking about giving and recieivng from the Lord money that is and I thought all those people are always being blessed by people giving unto them .WOW but it made me wonder a little about giving and that I was taught to give and not expect back.

God used a man in the Golden Corral parking lot to show me something about giving. We were getting into our car and this male comes up asking for money and at first I spoke and said that we didn't have the extra to give to him, as we were backing out the Lord spoke to me and told me to give him money so I told my husband to stop and I gave him what had been laid upon my heart to give which wasn't that much .

Driving down the road my husband and I were talking about giving to this guy and I told Chuck that I had done my part and my heart was OK, how this man used it was between him and GOD . My cell phone rings its someone telling me to stop by on the way home her husband has something for me , I told Chuck  that I bet Jim had been to home depot and I had asked him to bring me samples back of wood flooring with that in mind I knew that was why we were stopping .

We get to Jim's house and I go in and he meets me at the door getting out his wallet handing me money  and gave me much  more  20 times more  not  10 times but 20 times more than I had given this man , it brought me to tears and I told him to about Giving to the man and  please keep the money and put it in the building fund and he said no I am giving it to you and you can put it in if you want.
 Which I did the next morning  I stopped  by the man  who was over the building fund and I gave all of the money   to him and told him how GOD had used this to show me just  how he does give as I wondered about others and them saying things such as this .

I learned a great lesson that night you can NEVER out give GOD .................and he blesses us in many
ways not only by money.

So on my journey I pray that I can always be a giver , as I want to be a blessing to others
I know this was a lesson that was valuable to me

So true a picture is worth a thousand words as the words cant truly describe the beauty of nature

4305    For bedside coffee brought with a kiss and hug from the man I love ~I know I say this many many times but each morning it is one of my most precious blessings that he loves me to do this over and over again

4307     Paying our bills = I am blessed to pay them = a thankful heart that GOD has supplied our needs

30 days of thankfulness Nov 4 2011

I just say the 30 thankful days party today so I am a few days behind
I hope its ok that I do alll four days in this one day.

Nov.1  I am thankful for my husband as he is my best friend,and all the little things he does for me
means to much ~ the coffee he brings to my bedside each monring with a kiss and a hug they mean so much to me he said one morning not long ago this is brought with a lot of love

Nov 2  I am thankful for the Sunshine and the mornings that I leave a little early to take a few  pictures of
the beauty GOD allows me

Nov 3.  I am thankful for our ladies bible study group and our study on the fruits of the spirit , how this study has brought me to tears , opened my eyes , GOD is so faithful  he  will do what he says he will do if we just believe that he will do that in his own time not my time but his time .

 Nov.4   Today I am thankful for the house that GOD has allowed my husband and I to have
its not a big mansion just a plain and simple country house that we so love it provides us warmth in the winter and cool in the summer ~~ after a days work to open that door .....................its home ..........

Coffee Klatch Friday Nov 4 2011

Today we are doing 10 things that

are on our bucket list

1..  The first on my list is to visit London England as this is were some of my ancestors came from

I have worked on my family history for over 30 years and love each piece of the puzzle that I have put

together ~~A little town in London called Markham town oh to see that !!

2.  To have a beach house , is a dream I have had for many years , the little house below would do me and my husband just find I can see us sitting on the porch drinking our coffee and watching the sunrises and then of the evenings watching the sunsets ~~oh to dream !!

3.   To take flying lessons ~~I would so love this

4.  Take a cake decorating class ~~Cake designing would be awesome

5.  Take several photography classes to learn all I can about lighting and indoor photography
as well as outdoor ~~I love nature shots the best as its perfect lighting  around noon and before
sunset

6.  Learn how to be a landscaper ~~ I do some landscaping but would love to have it look
picture perfect ~~ a look that could go in a magazine

7.  To lose weight and keep it off this should have been at the top of my bucket list
eat healthy

8.   To take a Cruise to some tropical island

9.   Go to Martha's Vineyard
10  Go to New York city
