CHRISTmas

I woke up to a blanket of snow this

morning

In previous posts if you have read

you will know I am not

a winter person

at all

first off I did sing

Happy Birthday to JESUS

after that I began to complain

on face book

about all the snow

then GOD

spoke to into my spirit and

said

 I bring to you in this blanket of snow a reminder

that I came to all as white is a sign of purity

so is my love for each of you

its Pure  genuine love

when someone gives you a gift, what’s the first thing you usually say? “Thank you.” When you give thanks, it’s a sign that you are receiving the gift. My simple pleasure

this week is one of cherished memories

My mother has been in heaven for

the past 28 years

so each time I pass this picture

I stop and think of those wonderful memories of a GODLY mother

to the right of the picture is a Avon

Roses, Roses powder,

this is one of the powders she wore 
 so I stop

and smell this bottle of

powders

Its like I  can smell my  mother and feel her love

 its all about the little

bottle of  pink powders and how

its such a simple  ~wonderful ~ most treasured pleasure

on any day to stop in this bedroom

and smell those Roses and feel

my mothers presence

what a simple pleasure

for me

Simple pleasure Thursday Dec 9 2010

I  love light and the glow of a candle

so many people were putting them in their windows in my home town

asking what it meant as it was not CHRISTmas

the meaning I was told was that you would always

receive a warm welcome at a home

that had candle light

So for about ten years I have had them in the windows on each end  of our home

I have tried to find the meaning of the candle in the window

Here are a few of the meanings I have found

The Tradition of placing a Candle in the Window goes back to the Colonial times in the United States and back much further in time for other cultures. It is a Tradition practiced throughout the year. It symbolizes the warmth and security of the Family hearth and signals loyalty to Family members and loved ones who are not present in the home.

Friendship 

                         In many cultures a candle in the window symbolizes friendship to travelers
                           that they will find a warm welcome at this house .


                
It is always such a warm cozy feeling I get when I pull in at night and the candle lights are on in the
windows .....it even makes me feel better after a long day to just see the light .
I do hope others will feel this warm welcome each time someone comes to our home !

The meaning of a Chrismtas tree and lights

I know most of you will know this

I just had to post

so I could remember

all the meanings

The Christmas tree comes to us from Germany. Martin Luther is credited with being inspired by the starry heavens one night, and expressing his feelings to his family by bringing a fir tree into his home, and attaching lighted candles to its branches. Fir meant fire, and fire is an ancient symbol for spirit. The tree also pointed toward the heavens.

Evergreens were thought to represent the ever-burning fire of life. The color green signified the life force through the year. Eventually decorative balls represented the planets, while the star that radiates from the top reminds us of Bethlehem. The entire tree and decorations teach us that the universe is witness to the Incarnation.



Red at Christmas reminds us of the fire of the Spirit. Green affirms nature, and the ongoing life. And in the Incarnation, Spirit unites with nature.



In fact, the Christmas tree symbolizes to us a further appreciation of Jesus' birth. It is a means of retelling a miracle in a colorful and beautiful way so that we can further understand and appreciate Jesus' entering our world.



Actually, the tree is a reinterpretation of pagan rites, along with the use of other greens and decorations to commemorate in ancient times a celebration of the feast of Saturnalia - the birth of the Sun in the sky at the Winter Solstice. Along with the giving of gifts, the feast was later Christianized with the selection of December 25th to announce the birth of the Son of God to the world.



The tree also tells the story of a cosmic event - a mystery. In personal celebrations of Christmas the tree begins its use in the 16th century, and is later brought to America by German immigrants.



The heavens and earth rejoice in the coming of the Lord of Life. Our decision must be either for our Christmas tree to represent the celebration of the birth of Christ, or simply an acknowledgment of the pagan festival of the Winter Solstice.

Last night as I sat in our living room

no noise of Tv or music

Just sitting looking at the multi colored lights

on our Christmas Trees

gives me a peace and warmth

and wonder of what that first CHRISTmas night was like

here it was  so cold last night and

a little snow still lingering

this was a wonderful time

praying and thanking

JESUS

for all the things from that first

CHRISTmas morn

I could have just sit there all night

praying

and

Reminiscing

Try it turn all the distracts off

and just sit in the still of the night

with the lights of your tree

bet you too would enjoy this time

as you can feel the warmth and

love of our Saviour

wishing you a night of

quietness

The Potter and the clay

THE POTTER AND THE CLAY
Jeremiah 18: 1-6

The Potter and the Clay


1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying: 2 “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.” 3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. 4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.

5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: 6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the LORD. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!



I want you to remember in writing I am a heart writer not a correct writer.

I have started to write this several times but I just go on to something else and ever time

I come to my blog spot ...I hear I am the POTTER and you are the Clay. I had to search
to see just how the potter worked . I learned before the process of being put on the potters
wheel , the potter has to work the clay some before he throws it on the wheel

 

In thinking of the Potter and the clay. how The potter works, adding water, as he holds onto the clay never letting go, then when finished he cuts away the bad piece that is at the bottom as you can see from the video below

While watching this I have thought as to how GOD holds on to us molding at the same time he adds and shapes yet he never lets go Thur the whole process

The master workman, the potter, takes a lump of clay and he cuts it into small pieces. And he crushes it together on the bench, and cuts it, and crushes it together again and again until all the bubbles or lumps have been removed. Then he takes a lump of the thus-prepared clay and throws it in the center of the wheel so that it sticks fast, revolving with the wheel. As the wheel spins his deft fingers caress and mold it, first without and then within, until Jeremiah sees a vessel of beauty emerging from the unpromising clay.

What is the interpretation of the sign? Who is the potter? Well you know that the potter, of course, is God Himself. What are the wheels and what is the clay? Who but God Himself could be the counterpart of this potter? In Isaiah 64:8 we read, "But now, O LORD, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand."

Glad I know the Potter and GOD know this piece of clay

My Simple Pleasure

this week is one

of a thoughtful

co-worker

last Friday was my birthday

she never forgets

she had me a cake which is my most favorite cake

Birthday cake

along with the cake was a beautiful card

and two pandora charms

aka to us pan-cora charms !

This made my birthday  day special

but she makes everyday special to me

my co-worker, my friend, my sister in CHRIST

1381 For the Birthday cake LC brought as she knows its my favorite cake

1383 For those Sunday School, Vacation bible school, and MYF teachers

how blessed I am that they gave of their time !!

1386   For Doing most of my shopping this morning before the crowd !!

1387   For going green with Christmas cards Making some most unusual ones !!

1390 Thursday~~Thanksgiving~~for this day !!

1391  For getting up early to put the Turkey on  5 30 am is way to early to start cooking however I was blessed to do so

1392  For my husbands help with getting the turkey all spiked with his injections

1393  For the sun and wind a very warm day for us

1394  For being with my husbands family

1395  For sharing some laughs over GGG going green glenna cards

1396  For the birthday pie I had

1397  For a safe trip to my husband family and back

1398  For in bad times to still tell of the blessings

1399  For being asked to say grace and I sure pray that they all know of the blessings they have had this year

1403   For being at the midnight madness sale and getting the items I wanted ~~Thank you Lord!!

1404   For being to work on time after not much sleep

1414  For walmart taking back that steam mop (that I waited hours for at midnight Friday )

1415  For my dogie being so sweet just wanted to be loved on in my lap  ~~This made me think that sometimes I just need to crawl up in the arms of JESUS and love on him not wanting nothing but to love him .
