Memorial day 2011

Memorial day

this being the day sat aside to honor

our friends and family that

have fought for

our freedoms that we now

enjoy

most days I forget that it is the ones that have fought

for years for our everyday freedoms

I am thankful that they were ready to go

and do the best for our country

as we are known  for the home of the free and the brave

this weekend I say thanks to all that

have fought in the past and are fighting now
for our freedoms

      I had five our of six brothers 
that have served and fought for our freedoms  
I am proud that they helped
in keeping our freedoms   

If you know someone that has or is fighting for our freedoms

say thank you to them

let us not let those go unnoticed

for their unselfish acts

Lest we forget the meaning of this holiday weekend while our backyards are filled with family and the scent of food cooking on the grill, Memorial Day honors the American men and women who have died in military service to their country. These service members’ commitment and dedication to the United States of America resulted in the ultimate sacrifice, paying a dear price for our continued liberty and freedom. They will not be forgotten!

Simple Pleasure Thursday 5 26 2011

I have had a great weekend we normally don't get three days off together and only every other Saturday
so this is a treat and I have sure did some things I simply love
Saturday we got up early  took off to my favorite place to purchase flowers about an hours  drive there  and such a beautiful one also just look at those mountains (I tell my husband that we are looking toward Ky so that's why they are so pretty )

Then we come back home unload the flowers

                                                        (just a few of what I purchased)
 Then off to wally world for mulch,  we make our purchase come back to unload and now time for this gal to get busy at what she loves.  I worked several hours Saturday  mulching ,planting some of the flowers
pulling weeds putting up more bird feeders out back, did a little spray painting on a stone .
I was so thrilled at doing all this I stood in my garage and just praised the LORD for a little time as he is the one who has allowed me to do this.  I had so worried that I wouldn't get to work in it this year as my knee had been giving me some problems I just want to praise him right here and thank him for allowing this ole gal the time she got to spend in her yard,Saturday and Sunday,  those that are nature and flower lovers will understand my love for this.

                                           

 I had to get ready to go to my mother in laws for her birthday another  hour drive but we enjoy the  scenery and time together as this is a true pleasure to spend the days together
Sunday Another beautiful day I got back out for a few more hours got all the flowers planted have some more mulching to do and some work out back but this gal has sure enjoyed the sun, the warmth , the togetherness , mornings of coffee on the porch

So yes I have to say I had more than one pleasure this past weekend and loved every minute of it !!!
maybe next week I can show the finished yard .

3583    Thankful to celebrate a day late with my MIL on her 73rd birthday
3584    Thankful that my husband fixed our water hose that was all kinked =I am not neat with them

 This week makes a year of multitudes and thankfulness I have been blessed with , this as truly changed the way I look at things , the simple things in life , wow what blessings they bring  if we will just
stop and look each evening what has been given to us.
With these blessings and thankfulness that I have posted  this year it just doesn't even scratch the surface of  what GOD has given me daily,  many I have overlooked in these fifty two weeks,  GOD is so good to us
May you to be changed by gving thanks to our Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST !!!

Journey of Faith Fridays

This weekend has been one of mixed emotions

Happiness and Sadness

I had struggled with it Saturday and Sunday

as I was out of town to be

with family to celebrate

the Wedding of my Nephew

which was the happiness.

 Sunday going  to my home

church for many years was happy

but yet sad as it was  mothers day

I  had struggled looking at pictures taken

on Saturday with some of my family missing since last

year due to being called home .

Last night as I was praying , crying , thinking about

my loved ones

asking GOD for something

I had heard others talk of

I smelled the most wonderful smell

the sweetest smell ever

to the right side of where I was

I would turn to the left  there was no smell

back to the right the sweetest of sweet smells

I have ever smelled and there is nothing on the right of me

that could be this smell

so I turn

back to the left side again  no smell

then back again to the right side

again the sweetest smell as I am still trying to figure out what it is

then it hit me !!!!

I have heard others say that there is a sweet smell of the

 Holy Spirit

I now fell that it was that sweet smell of the Holy Spirit  that was telling me 

I am here to comfort you 

at this point I felt comforted  

After a short period of time the sweet smell left

I am in awww of the sweet smell

feeling truly blessed to have experienced

this smell

I have looked up some scripture on this

Philippians 4:17-18 (New International Version)

       17 Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.
     18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? 17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.

Simple Pleasure Thursday May 19 2011

Simple Pleasure
 Each week

I am blessed with many Simple Pleasures

as I am a simple gal

with a very simple life

I love digging in the dirt

getting flowers planted

working in my flowers

this year I had been having some issue with my knee

I had worried  and worried over
 how would I ever get all the things

done outside that I love , didn't want no one

else to help as its my love

and my time in the garden

with GOD

after work one evening this week my knee has been doing better

and for this I must PRAISE GOD

I was able to get dirty and get some of the landscaping done
Its still a work in progress

                                                   For this simple pleasure

for the dirty hands working in the mulch

I have this plaque as it says alot about the garden

My simple pleasure is one

that I so so love

nothing better than being out in the open

air working in the flowers !!

Thankfulness

Monday started the fifty second week of joining up with Multitude on Mondays
stopping and thanking the master creator for all the many gifts he gives so freely
each day . This has truly made a change in my life as each day I stop to say
Thank you LORD for the many gifts you give to me that I would normally not
have done .

During this year I have faced pain, heartache,and the loss of three family members
during my storms of life I could still find many things to thank him for . During those days
GOD gave me what I had need of  for each day , Comfort and peace about my family that had gone
to be with him .

One of my brothers told me of his vision GOD had given him and I quote
what he said "don't ever quit going to church, don't ever quit praying
don't ever doubt , it's REAL I have saw it "
IF ever there is a time of doubt for me I want to always be able to remember his words
It's REAL !!!

I have thought that after a year I would quit posting the thankfulness on Multitude Mondays , then how can I
as it helps me to come back and look at all the simple things GOD gives me each day.
Many of you are approaching your year also of Multitude Mondays . I would love to hear how it has changed your life .....

Simple pleasure Thursday 5 12 2011

I have had so many simple pleasures this week

the one I have chose

is one of togetherness

of our family

My nephew got married

a few weeks ago

and when he and his wife came

back from Turks Casios

they had a wedding reception

our family got together and

had a great time

celebrating with

them and their families

in this joyous

time

Now ain't my nephew just the most handsome young man

he sure is a sweetie ...

I love getting to be with my family

since miles separate us

and this past year

has been one of not such happy times together

so its was great for

happy times with family

I thank GOD for my family

Mothers Day In memory of my sweet mother

I know everyone thinks there mother is the greatest , I am right there with the rest
I know mine was a true gift from GOD and she was the greatest , my best friend
I always heard that your mother was your best friend and its so true you know if
you go to her and what ever you tell her that's where it stays

A Godly mother one that from my childhood up teaching me, molding me 
To always put GOD first in your life and everything else will work out .
I was the last of nine kids so I figure she knew what she was doing
by the time she got me .I really know she knew what she was doing with the first one

I used to hear her  at night kneeling beside her bed praying and asking
GOD save my children and GOD has answered her prayers  all of her children
are saved and active in their churches, from Deacons, Sunday School teachers, Choir members,
some sing in a local gospel group. She didn't live to see her prayers answered but I sure it made news in heaven as each one was saved.   Today at Church my brother that she didn't get to see saved prayed the most beautiful prayer as it brought me to tears ...
This is my mothers twenty fifth year in heaven , since last Mothers day she has two of her sons with her
bet they are going to have a grand time with her this mothers day.

There is a song by the Crabb family called I sure do miss you , the words to this song are so beautiful and true

If life could only bring again, the days I took for granted when

Oh what I'd give for just some time, to say the things that slipped my mind

Journey of faith friday 5 6 2011

I just finished this six week study with Priscilla Shirer  called one in a million
as she says she sat on a pew for a long time each Sunday.  I too have sat on the pews
and listened to many pastors telling us of the power of GOD.
I am so glad that I know that GOD is all powerful and in
John 10:10  says  ¹⁰The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 
Although the Lord God had demonstrated his loving care for the children of Israel by bringing them forth from bitter bondage in Egypt, and fed them with manna from Heaven during their sojourn in the wilderness, they remained a thankless, ungrateful, and unholy people. Moses had delivered the people from the slavery of Pharaoh, yet the people murmured against Moses because they had no water to drink! Water of course is an essential for life. Without water, there can be no life. Water also refreshes us, cleans us, satisfies our thirst, and soothes our weary soul. There seems to be a lot of irony in the prospect of Moses ( the Deliverer ) rescuing the Israelites from the slave-pits of Goshen and leading them into a dry and dusty wilderness, where they were susceptible to die of thirst. Thus the children of Israel clamored against their Deliverer because their thirst was not quenched. So outraged were the people that they threatened to take up rocks and stone Moses. Undoubtedly, Moses felt overwhelmed and annoyed. Thus it was that Moses and Aaron went burdened before the Lord seeking help.





In this study I have learned that GOD wants us to have this abundant life , as we are no different than the others that Moses lead Thur the wilderness and Joshua lead to the land of milk and honey We want or I will say I want to stay in the comfort zone and not move as in to witness more telling others GOD is the GOD of more than enough.
This study summed up to me is that I must follow GOD and lead others don't moan and complain just GO do what GOD has me to do !
I want to be that one in a million

Ephesians 3: 17-20
 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
