Problems with Focusing

I have a question for others
When trying to read the bible ,
studying a bible lesson
Praying or
just talking to
God

It seems I just cant
stay focused
my mind keeps running on
to other
things
does anyone else
have this problem
or if someone
can help that
has had this same problem
that is now focused
if you can stay focused please tell me
as I want to know
how to keep
my thoughts on
the word
and when I am praying

Blessings to all

  1. I have had the same problem! Even now am. I know it's satan's ruse....sometimes I just sit and turn everything off and am still and listen for Him. I think it happens to all of us, and we just keep pressing in and waiting. There's no formula.
    Have a most blessed day!

  2. I think everyone has this problem. I write down things that stand out to me in the Bible as I read. If my mind wanders as I am reading or praying I write down on a separate page what comes into my mind, "buy milk, send so and so a card, etc", once I write down the distracting thought I just resume reading or praying.

Thanks for your kind comment on my simple pleasures post!

  3. Yes, we all have that problem ~ I think that Elizabeth has a wonderful idea. I'm going to do that, too.

  4. I have that problem. Like elizabeth, I have found it helps to have a notebook with me with a 'to do' list. As I study and my mind wonders, I write it down to remember to do it later. It is not only a to do list but a 'think about it later' list.
